In my actual employment I have been performing the following
tasks:
Prepared the cost estimate for the
subdivision of 129 residential lots. Calculated distances (longitudes), areas,
volumes and unit prices for the different aspects of the project, including:
clearing and grubbing, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, streets, roads, fences,
trails, pavement, concrete slabs, the sanitary sewer system, ornamentals, the
guardhouse, pavement markings, traffic signs, handicapped facilities, earthwork,
storm sewer drainage system, a sanitary sewer pumping station, the access road
and the potable water system. Prepared cost estimate for project as one phase,
and divided in separate phases.
Prepared the plan and profile of the proposed
elevation of several streets. Studied the rough grading of certain streets by
preparing profiles showing the existing ground elevation and the proposed grade
of the street. Helped in the design of the fine grading, superelevation and
drainage control of the streets within the projects.
Prepared a plan for runoff control within the
project, in order to prevent flooding. To achieve the best design for the
storm sewer system, we researched different materials, pipe diameters,
slopes, inlet & manhole positions, connections, etc. to be used on the
storm sewer system. The rational method (Q=CIA) was used in order to determine
the expected runoff flow within the project. StormCAD software was used in
order to apply the manning equation and ensure that the expected amount of
water would flow properly.
Reviewed and revised the construction plan
package of a sanitary sewer pumping station at Monte Carlo Resort. The package
included a location plan, a grading plan, mechanical drawings, electrical plans,
structural plans and architectural plans of the pumping station to be built at
the project. Obtained the necessary data to specify the proper pumps to be used
at the pumping station.
Assisted in the process of obtaining the various permits
required for the construction of Monte Carlo Resort Development. Obtained the
"Sediment and Erosion Control (CES), the Air Quality Plan (PFE) and the
non-toxic waste disposal (DS-3) permits for the construction of Yauco Plaza II,
a 20 acre shopping center in the south-west area of Puerto Rico.
Obtained all
the permits required for the construction of a residence in Ciales, a town in
central Puerto Rico.
Worked on the design of gravity pipes for
the sanitary sewer system of Monte Carlo Resort Development, a project located
in an area with a challenging topography.
From a 129- lot subdivision project, prepared
and drafted a construction kit to build the infrastructure of the first 14 lots
to be sold. Drawings include a Title Sheet, Location Plan, Symbols and
Abbreviations Sheet, Site and Topographical Plan, Detail sheets, Rough Grading
(plan & profile), Sanitary Sewer System (plan, profile & details), Fine
Grading, Geometric Layout, Potable Water Plan, and Drainage Plan.
Worked on the design of the river
intake and the reservoir outlet of the Northeast Regional Aqueduct, the first
reservoir in Puerto Rico to be built away from the river course. Also prepared
all of the construction plans of a service road to access the river intake
structure. The design included a circular culvert at the interception with a
brook.
Worked on the infrastructure design
of the 50 acres expansion of Guerrero Correctional Complex in
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
